In primary one our Fun Learning topic is 'All about me.' This topic provides a wonderful starting point for children to explore who they are, their families, their likes and dislikes and their place in the world. This week the children have been taking part in role-play activities such as a family corner and a classroom doctor's surgery. They have been drawing self-portraits and creating simple crafts that represent their hobbies. To help the children explore their bodies and the benefits of exercise they had their very own gym. The boys and girls have been using blocks, Lego and construction sets to build models of their homes and community spaces. This nurtures creativity, problem-solving and spatial awareness while giving them opportunities to talk about their environment.
