Miss Murphy’s Primary 3 had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day! The children came to school dressed as their favourite book characters, and the classroom was full of amazing costumes. We had everything from princesses and superheroes to famous characters from much-loved storybooks. We even had our very own book! Everyone put a lot of effort into their outfits and it was wonderful to see so many creative ideas.
We also took part in a whole-school costume parade where everyone had the chance to show off their fantastic outfits. It was great fun seeing all the different characters from books across the school and cheering for one another as we paraded.
One of the highlights of the day was our “Masked Reader” game. In this activity, different members of staff recorded themselves reading part of a story, but their identities were hidden! The children had to listen very carefully and try to guess which staff member was reading each book. We were all very impressed with their detective skills.
World Book Day reminded us how much fun reading can be and how stories can take us on exciting adventures.
