The children had great fun making and cutting sandwiches today while exploring fractions in a hands-on way. As they cut the sandwiches, they discovered different ways to show 1/2 and 1/4. There was lots of investigating and problem-solving as they compared sizes and talked about their findings. The activity supported the children in recognising that fractions represent equal parts of a whole.
