It has been a week full of fiction, fantasy, fun and adventure in Primary 2 as we have been exploring and celebrating our favourite author; Julia Donaldson! 📚
Julia Donaldson has written some of the world’s best-loved children’s books and is most famous for her rhyming stories such as Room on the Broom, The Scarecrows Wedding, Tiddler, Stickman and The Gruffalo! These tales have so much to offer and they expose children to a world full of make-believe and imagination.
Ms Meehan’s boys and girls have spent the week enjoying many stories and looking for similarities and differences between them. They enjoyed exploring the role of an author and creating stories of their own using some of the many characters from Julia’s books.
The children were extremely enthused and their learning in literacy filtered through to their work in all other areas. They were even inspired by The Scarecrows Wedding to scavenge in nature and create wedding pieces of their own! So cute! ❤️
