As part of our Once Upon a Time topic, P2 pupils began by listening to the story of Cinderella, which helped introduce ideas about life in the past.
Using the story as a starting point, the children took part in a history lesson focused on “then and now.” They discussed what life was like long ago compared to today and sorted picture cards as a whole class.
This learning was then extended into their play. In the construction area, pupils built their own castles, applying what they had learned about castle features. In the creative area, they designed missing and wanted posters for Cinderella, adding made‑up phone numbers and creating detailed drawings to bring their ideas to life.
