Opening Books, Opening Worlds in P. 3. (YW)
Primary Three celebrated World Book Day with a range of exciting activities that encouraged a love of reading and creativity. The highlight of the day was an online tutorial from the famous author and illustrator Corrina Campbell, who demonstrated how to draw our very own characters. The children were inspired as they learned how simple shapes and ideas can be turned into unique characters, unleashing their creativity and imagination.
Children also came to school dressed as their favourite book characters, which made the day colourful and fun. Throughout the day, they took part in a variety of activities linked to World Book Day. They designed and made their own bookmarks and completed numeracy activities with a World Book Day theme.
World Book Day highlighted the importance of reading and how books can inspire imagination, learning and enjoyment. It reminded everyone that reading helps develop creativity, builds knowledge and opens the door to many exciting adventures through stories
