This week in Miss Murphy’s class, we’ve been busy exploring area in a very hands-on way! Instead of using formulas, the children learned that area is all about how much space something covers.
Using cubes, the class investigated the area of our classroom objects; carefully placing the cubes ensuring there were no gaps or overlaps. They then counted how many cubes were needed to cover each object.
