P7K are learning how to Bee Safe!
6th Feb 2026
This week primary 7 were given a lot of support in trying to be safe.
First we had Edele from REIM training in to teach us how to be safer on the internet, an important lesson for all of us. A high focus on not believing everything you hear online and making sure if you do feel uncomfortable what you should do.
On Wednesday we were invited to Ballyholand for a special day of learning. Bee Safe was made up of a few short sessions from multiple agencies.

On Wednesday we were invited to Ballyholand for a special day of learning. Bee Safe was made up of a few short sessions from multiple agencies.
We learned about:
- Prevention of accidents in the home and how to keep safe.
- Fire safety and how to check fire alarms, making sure you and your family have a plan and ways to prevent fires.
- Translink let us have a go on their Safety Bus, explaining the dangers of getting on and off a bus, how to travel on public transport safely.
- We had a discussion on the Food Wheel and how good nutrition can help us focus. What carbohydrates, protein and fruit and vegetables do for our bodies.
- A short session on Internet Safety, including basic rules to follow when using the internet
- We learned about the 5 principles of mental health and wellbeing: connect, be active, keep learning, give to others and be mindful. We all then took a walk over the lego bricks, reminding us to be mindful and present in the moment.
