Primary 5 learn about mummification

The Primary 5 children have been learning about mummification, as part of our World Around Us topic 'Ancient Egypt'.  We have learned that the Ancient Egyptians mummified dead bodies to preserve them.  We have tried our own version of mummification using pieces of fruit.  The children have placed pieces of apple in a mixture of salt and baking soda to dry them out.  We now have to wait at least a week to see the results of the experiment.
