Primary 6 investigate changing wind into sound

As part of our World Around Us work on the topic of 'Wind', this week Mr McClorey's class explored the sounds we can make by blowing into plastic bottles.  The children investigated how this sound might change when the bottles contained different amounts of water.  They learned about 'pitch' and how we use this effect when we play our tin whistles.  The investigation was a lot of fun, and involved a lot of learning in Maths and teamwork as well as World Around Us.
