St Patrick's The Meadow Primary School, Newry

The Beginning of the End in Term 3 P7K!

1st May 2026
This past few weeks the primary 7 children have been doing some reminiscing about their time in St Patrick's.

The children have been discussing what makes St Patrick's so special, what their favourite memories are and what they loved the most.

We have used our talents, drawing, sketching, writing and using ICT devices to demonstrate what we love so much about our school and our very special time together.

As our primary 7 children make the move from primary school to secondary we want them to remember the positives. We hope this work will have a positive effect on them as they move on from our wonderful school.

We have also been working on Under The Hawthorn Tree, learning about life in Ireland during the Famine. We have been learning about the Workhouse and created some wonderful pencil sketches of what a workhouse looked like, we have had great discussions and completed comprehension work. The children will be finishing this topic quite soon and then we will introduce our new topic.

Fabulous job children!
